Could you confirm that you have sys-apps/file installed on your system? it provides '/usr/bin/file' which seems to be what is causing the issue. This is a @system package and as such you should have it installed. yes, file was unmerged at one point. This issue is about 3/4 of the way through an update hell. After posting, I unsnapped the volume to start over with the things I learned the first time around. for now go ahead and close this out for now. I bets its more related to the overall update effort that has been a bit of a pain. |
