Please file version bump requests as needed. Having the original SRC_URI disappear makes new ebuilds neither necessary nor urgent, let alone rushing them to the stable branch.

I just checked that e.g. app-misc/ca-certificates-20130906-r1 _still_ fails at my place.

Not sure where you got the URL. Our records state

The URL is reachable, and I see a sufficient number of ca-certificates versions there.
