cupsd also does not start with kernel 2.6.7-rc1-mm1 and 2.6.7-rc3-mm1. The cupsd deamon freeze the whole system, a reboot is required. it's working here with kernel-2.6.7, can you test this one please? *** Bug 54954 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** please test kernel-2.6.7 or kernel-2.6.8-rc2 and cups-1.1.21-rc1 It isn't a bug in cups. There is a bug in the 2.6.7, and 2.6.8 kernel, and after a partitle detection the USB kernel portion stops resonding, and won't detect any further devices, and so cups has a dependency on hotplug, and hotplug uses USB it just looks like it is stuck there. It is really hotplug that is stuck, but no message is displayed. There is some memory allocation problem, and I have tested. The 2.6.7 kernel, and 2.6.8_RC2 have the same problem. |
