Description LE GARREC Vincent 2014-06-14 13:41:34 UTC
gcc 4.8 should be enabled.

/opt/cuda/include/host_config.h says "#error -- unsupported GNU version! gcc 4.9 and up are not supported!"
so gcc 4.8 looks fine.

Thanks, this will help me to keep only one version of gcc.

Well actually the package should "allow" gcc 4.8, but it seems that it now forces gcc 4.8:

The following keyword changes are necessary to proceed:
 (see "package.accept_keywords" in the portage(5) man page for more details)
# required by dev-util/nvidia-cuda-toolkit-6.0.37-r2
# required by dev-util/nvidia-cuda-sdk-6.0.37::local
# required by @selected
# required by @world (argument)
=sys-devel/gcc-4.8.3 ~amd64

Officially the following combinations of compilers are support/allowed:
http://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-getting-started-guide-for-linux/index.html#system-requirements

Should I open a new bug for this?
