Almost certainly a duplicate of bug 491364 of some sort -> Incompability with installed boost and 0.2.8-r1 Try 0.2.8-r2 or 0.3.2 instead, -r1 is no good *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 491364 *** (In reply to Samuli Suominen from comment #1) > Almost certainly a duplicate of bug 491364 of some sort -> Incompability > with installed boost and 0.2.8-r1 > > Try 0.2.8-r2 or 0.3.2 instead, -r1 is no good > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 491364 *** I've tried them, fails on same thing. I ran into the same problem. I had dev-libs/boost-1.52.0-r6 and dev-util/boost-build-1.52.0-r1 installed. On a guess based on bug #491364, I unmasked >=boost and boost-build 1.53.0-r1 and executed: emerge -uND --with-bdeps=y --keep-going @world I had 14 packages which either upgraded or rebuilt successfully including sys-block/thin-provisioning-tools-0.3.2. I'm not a programmer but I suggest that the mentioned upstream patch for thin-provisioning-tools may not be compatible with earlier versions of boost. I know nothing and, of course, YMMV .. >>> Verifying ebuild manifests >>> Running pre-merge checks for media-video/mkvtoolnix-6.9.1 >>> Running pre-merge checks for app-office/libreoffice-4.2.4.2 * Checking for at least 512 MiB RAM ...
