Hi,

since 2.50 portage supports the configfiles /etc/portage/package.{mask,unmask,keywords,use} but not /etc/portage/package.features
This would permit to ie. use ccache only for a few packages which i often recompile, like cvs-versions. So cchache would stay fast because the  cache is small and contains only what you want to...

FEATURES should only be global settings.
Try /etc/portage/bashrc
