Hi,

CZ.NIC is setting up a mirroring service for popular open source software and would like to provide full Gentoo mirror for community use.

The server is located in Prague and connected via 10GbE links to both local IX (NIX.CZ) and transit providers.

Server name: mirrors.nic.cz

HTTP:  http://mirrors.nic.cz/gentoo-distfiles/
FTP:   ftp://mirrors.nic.cz/pub/gentoo-distfiles/
RSYNC: rsync://mirrors.nic.cz/gentoo-distfiles/

(Feel free to suggest other directory name...)

The server has native IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity and it has currently 10TB of disk space that is almost filled up and it will be extended in upcoming months.

The server already carry the gentoo-portage tree (just replace the gentoo-distfiles with gentoo-portage in the URLs) and the gentoo-distfiles are syncing right now and the full sync should be finished before anybody will have the time to check this bug report since it has poured 11GB since I have started to write this request :).

We might also have a resources for private VM if that's of any interest to the Infrastructure team.  Contact me off-list for that.

Demand for mirrors is not large, so we do not need additional mirrors at this time. Thank you for your consideration.
