Python 2.3.4_rc1 has been released. Here is a release notes -- http://www.python.org/2.3.4/NEWS.html. I think ebuild doesn't need any changes.

dev-python/python-docs-2.3.4_rc1 needs only to add line MY_PV=${PV/_rc/c} and replace ${PV} to ${MY_PV}.
