Your profile contains the use 'qt4'.
Wireshark ebuild auto-enable gtk3 as default, so this is the result:
> - net-analyzer/wireshark-1.10.7::gentoo USE="caps crypt filecaps gtk3 kerberos > netlink pcap qt4 ssl zlib -adns -doc -doc-pdf -geoip -gtk2 -ipv6 -libadns -lua > -portaudio (-selinux) -smi"
You just need to fix your package.use enabling one of: gtk2 gtk3 qt4
(In reply to Agostino Sarubbo from comment #1) > Your profile contains the use 'qt4'. ... > You just need to fix your package.use enabling one of: gtk2 gtk3 qt4 sorry, but this just doesn't make any sense I have enabled qt4 so I fix the issue by enabling one of ... qt4? If you want the Qt UI, you set USE="-gtk3 qt4". *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 484624 *** (In reply to Jeroen Roovers from comment #3) > (In reply to kavol from comment #2) > > (In reply to Agostino Sarubbo from comment #1) > > > Your profile contains the use 'qt4'. > > ... > > > You just need to fix your package.use enabling one of: gtk2 gtk3 qt4 > > > > sorry, but this just doesn't make any sense > > But it does. saying so doesn't mean it really is so ... > > I have enabled qt4 > > > > so I fix the issue by enabling one of ... qt4? > > If you want the Qt UI, you set USE="-gtk3 qt4". have you read the description? - let me repeat and ask, what's this: # euse -I gtk3 ... [- ] gtk3 (net-analyzer/wireshark): Build the wireshark executable with a GTK+ UI version 3. ... # euse -I qt4 global use flags (searching: qt4) ************************************************************ [+ C ] qt4 - Add support for the Qt GUI/Application Toolkit version 4.x Installed packages matching this USE flag: ... net-analyzer/wireshark-1.10.6 ... ??? (In reply to kavol from comment #0) > - net-analyzer/wireshark-1.10.7::gentoo USE="caps crypt filecaps gtk3 > kerberos netlink pcap qt4 ssl zlib -adns -doc -doc-pdf -geoip -gtk2 -ipv6 > -libadns -lua -portaudio (-selinux) -smi" You have both USE="gtk3 qt4" enabled. USE=gtk3 is enabled by default (denoted in the ebuild as IUSE=+gtk3) because it is the toolkit that upstream developers think wireshark works best on. If you like, you can disable that USE flag and enable USE=gtk2 or USE=qt4, but you can't have more than one of these three USE flags enabled at once. Note that if you'd rather use the 1.8 (old stable) or 1.11 (development) branch, you need to make different choices, as old stable works best with GTK+ 2 (USE=gtk2) and development is intended to deprecate GTK+3 (USE=gtk3) in favour of Qt (USE=qt4), and the IUSE defaults adhere to the upstream defaults in every ebuild. > wireshark is emerged with qt frontend USE="-gtk2 -gtk3 qt4" emerge wireshark Do note that you keep replying to a DUPLICATE bug report. This isn't exactly where all the action is. "Duplicate" means other people previously thought the same issue was a bug worth reporting, and did so. Please address all your future comments related to this duplicate bug report to bug #484624. *** Bug 511186 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
