Hi,

I've been going through and optimizing our scripts and had some questions about our current set up. 

Currently, we have two scripts that syncronize our gentoo mirror. One syncs to our /gentoo directory from ftp.ussg.iu.edu::gentoo-distfiles. The other syncs to /gentoo-portage from rsync://masterportage.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage. 

I've been reading through https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Infrastructure/Source_mirrors and see that we should be not syncing from ussg.iu.edu but instead for the official mirror. Can I get the info to login for that server (send to lug@mtu.edu)? Next, should we also be mirroring the gentoo-x86-portage to /gentoo-x86-portage? I just want to make sure that we are doing this correctly.

  get rid of the IU link and go direct with us

/gentoo-portage
  mirroring gentoo-x86 to gentoo-portage is correct

We don't have the login info to give I think, it isn't controled by us iirc.  Or were you asking for the login info for the official mirror?

You are already on the whitelist for both ipv4 and ipv6.

I think that's all the questions, let me know if you need more info.

Thanks for responding! We currently, don't have the login info for the private master distfile mirror. Could we get that? And is the host and rsync module, "rsync://masterdistfiles.gentoo.org/gentoo/"?
