Description

A vulnerability has been reported in PHP, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS 
(Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the libmagic library bundled in the Fileinfo extension when 
processing certain AWK scripts, which can be exploited to cause excessive CPU resources consumption via a 
specially crafted AWK script file.

The vulnerability is reported in versions 5.5.x and 5.4.x.

Fixed in the source code repository.

CVE-2013-4345 was fixed in version 5.5.11 and 5.4.27 according to http://php.net/ChangeLog-5.php#5.5.11 and http://php.net/ChangeLog-5.php#5.4.27 that are already stabilized.

This issue was resolved and addressed in
 GLSA 201408-11 at http://security.gentoo.org/glsa/glsa-201408-11.xml
by GLSA coordinator Kristian Fiskerstrand (K_F).
