Build log
I cannot reproduce this. It builds fine for me. What version of emacs are you running? Unfortunately, the build log doesn't give much info about what failed. I wonder if this is a parallel build failure. Could you try rebuilding with -j1 in MAKEOPTS, please? ~ # equery l app-editors/emacs * Searching for emacs in app-editors ... [IP-] [ ] app-editors/emacs-23.4-r6:23 [IP-] [ ] app-editors/emacs-24.3-r2:24 ~ # eselect emacs list Available Emacs symlink targets: [1] emacs-23 * [2] emacs-24 Again it fails. See attached log. My guess would be that it is being build against emacs-23 that is causing the problem: http://www.cs.vassar.edu/~priestdo/emacspeak/2013/msg00580.html Created attachment 373050 [details]

@teiresias: Maybe some tools from elisp.eclass could be used for emacspeak? For example, the NEED_EMACS variable would allow to specify the minimum Emacs version needed. Yes, this won't work at all with < emacs 24. Neither will emacspeak 38. If you really need it for emacs 23, I could look into re-adding a much older version. @ulm: Thanks for the hint; this will be useful. I don't really need it for anything, just noticed it failed on our build chroots (For Sabayon on ~amd64 and ~x86) Maybe others bump into this problem and this could be fixed at ebuild level somehow. At least for me it is now clear why it fails. Feel free to close this bug if it is not worth fixing. The emacs dependency is fixed in 39.0-r2. I went ahead and did a revbump, even though I might have been able to get away without it. ??? If someone needs an older emacspeak that works with emacs 23, they can open a fresh bug. |
