I've just committed net-dns/djbdns-1.05-r29 which fixes everything on my todo list. Once that's stabilized, the old revisions (which use the *-setup scripts) can be removed.

Fixed by removing all versions that used the setup scripts:

  Remove old versions, fixing bug #504414 in the process.
