kernel config
I think you have disabled DRM_I915_FBDEV and this causes a black screen when KMS kicks in. This is newly "optional" but it seems to break KMS when you disable it. "Choose this option if you have a need for the legacy fbdev support. Note that this support also provide the linux console support on top of the intel modesetting driver." Note > that this support also provide the linux console support on top of the intel > modesetting driver." thing is that I don't have X even, just a black screen. non the less, I'll try it and report back I've been having the same problem with 3.13.1 and 3.13.5 using hardened sources. Building DRM_I915_FBDEV does not do anything for me, but I've been disabling KMS to get to a command line. After doing some playing around, enabling DRM_I915_FBDEV AND CONFIG_X86_SYSFB was able to resolve the issue. Looks like this is not a bug, it's a bad documentation and kernel config. enabling DRM_I915_FBDEV did the job, thanks! |
