P.S. This happened on my system which is a AMD64 arch. I don't know if this problem also happens on i686 systems or not. Perhaps someone can emerge OpenVPN 2.3.2 on a amd64 arch, and see if it fails on the configure phase or not... Thank you. 1) Please attach the entire build log to this bug report. 2) Please post your `emerge --info' output in a comment. OK, 1. The complete build log: -------------------------- I'm sorry, but I cannot post the build log as this problem happened a while ago, and I was able to successfully build openvpn after reinstalling net-tools or iproute2 (I can't remember which of them). But, as I said before, I remember that the error message was present in the configure phase and was something like: "ip utility required but missing" or "route utility required but missing" and emerge failed. I had both the iproute2 and the net-tools packages installed. I periodically (based on an update protocol) update my servers, but because this is a production server, I can only update it under certain conditions. My next update will be in April 2014. If the error reappears at the next world update, I shall post more info here. Until than, I don't know what to say... perhaps try to emerge openvpn yourself, on an amd64 arch, and see if the error appears... Thank you. |
