its already done with freebsd, if it is possible with gentoo now give a link to it on how to build it I do not see how Gentoo does not already support this. Could you expand on that? http://www.spinics.net/linux/lists/linux-net/msg17710.html reading this url tells me that kernel.org have no support for only networking with ipv6 yet, so ipv4 still needs to be compiled for ipv6 to work :( still unsure here how to make it like freebsd do, hope its work in progress, and i know its plenty of work before it works, but it needs to start somewhere so all i ask for is if its possible now, a working .config file that kickstart it, the rest should not be a problem in userland ? If the upstream Linux kernel doesn't support it, then how is Gentoo Linux supposed to? Should the Gentoo project rewrite Linux? |
