LuaSec 0.5 was released a few days ago. The changelog can be seen in the release commit: https://github.com/brunoos/luasec/commit/21aefcf67d02ca4894c43701f0e0629078400976

Please have a look at the INSTALL file changes in the same commit.

I think there should be an option for the Prosody added features to luasec for enhanced security: http://prosody.im/doc/depends/luasec/prosody

FWIW dev-lua/luasec-0.4.1 fails to build at ~amd64
