Bug 49834

Summary: Nylon segfaults when using a domain in the allow list that can't be resolved

Description Gerben Welter 2004-05-03 06:16:48 UTC
It seems that when domains are placed in the allow list, it tries to resolve that domain. If it can, no problem. If it can't, it segfault.

E.g.: you want to allow access from some client that has the following dnsname:
client123.dial.provider.net. But the hostname might change from time to time because of a dynamic ip. So you would like to allow dial.provider.net, but dial.provider.net doesn't resolve. That causes nylon to segfault. Tried with version 1.1 and 1.2 (ebuild and tar version)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start nylon with: nylon -i eth0 -f -a "1.2.3.4 sub.otherdomain.com" -p 1150 &
2.
3.

Actual Results:
nylon: Listening on your.domain.com:1150
free(): invalid pointer 0x40182030!
Segmentation fault

Expected Results:
nylon: Listening on your.domain.com:1150
