Bug 498152

Summary: net-proxy/sshuttle should not RDEPEND on app-admin/sudo
Product: Gentoo Linux Reporter: Khayyam <cselkirk>
Component: Current packagesAssignee: Tim Harder <radhermit>
Status: RESOLVED FIXED
Severity: normal CC: alex_y_xu
Priority: Normal
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: Linux

Runtime testing required: ---

Description Khayyam 2014-01-15 10:50:26 UTC
The sshuttle docs state that sudo, su, or a root login is required to run sshuttle but as any of these is suitable it doesn't seem right that the package RDEPENDS on app-admin/sudo. Its not required in any way, its mearly one method of running the command with sufficient privilages.

Reproducible: Always

It used to shell out using sudo or su, even if the UID was 0, to setup iptables/firewall stuff. I just forgot to drop the dep once that was changed.
