Description Jens Mayer 2004-05-02 04:06:03 UTC
Trying to emerge the latest ~x86 version of app-crypt/seahorse, ./configure fails when checking dependencies:

---8<------------------------
Using config source xml::/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults for schema installation
Using $(sysconfdir)/gconf/schemas/ as install directory for schema files
checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking for libgnomeui-2.0 libglade-2.0
                            gtk+-2.0 >= 2.2.0 eel-2.0
                            gnome-mime-data-2.0
                            libbonobo-2.0 libbonoboui-2.0
bonobo-activation-2.0... Package eel-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `eel-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'eel-2.0' found

configure: error: Library requirements (libgnomeui-2.0 libglade-2.0

bonobo-activation-2.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

After emerging gnome-base/eel, seahorse compiles smoothly.

Comment 1 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-04 05:04:03 UTC
brad : 1st of all you touched a gnome herd pack without notifying us against all policy. Second, 0.7 series is a development release and shouldn't have been added. 3rd, you obviously didn't check deps.

I would prefer -as maintaining herd of this package- that you removed this version.
Comment 2 Brad Laue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-04 22:49:35 UTC
Version pulled - development versions don't go into portage posing as stable ones.
