cdcat-0.2.ebuild
ebuild bugs: cd ${S} in src_install() is not needed ebuild was missing ${D} in install targets -- violated sandbox source bugs: source's install.sh ignores the --man_prefix -- included workaround in ebuild wants to put the index files in /mnt/ext/cd (non-FHS), using /var/lib/cdcat Great job on the DEPENDS. Thanks for using correct tab settings. Please try using MAINTAINER="sandbox" in the future to help catch install bugs. The big pkg_postinst() message wasn't a bad idea, but the /mnt/ext/cd is really not FHS-compliant at all. I guess I'll put this in app-cdr; does that seem right? The Gentoo Copyright line was not included. I'm adding it. If this is a problem, let me know immediately so we can resolve it. Thanks for submitting the ebuild; we appreciate it. If you have any questions or comments about my changes, just post them to this bug. Thanks again, --Chouser Thanks for the detailed explainations. As I rarely write ebuilds, just for apps I often use, I need more practice. I've set MAINTAINER to include sandbox. Sorry for not keeping with the FHS, I don't actually use /mnt/ext/cd but decided not to change it as it is the default. I'll have a more in-depth look into the FHS. I think app-cdr isn't suitable for cdcat as it is not related to CD writing stuff. App-misc might be a good place to put it in. You are willing to give the copyright to Gentoo, correct? I will move the ebuild to app-misc. Thanks again, --Chouser Yes, I give full copyright permissions to Gentoo. Thanks for rewriting most of the code to conform to the project guidelines. moved to app-misc |
