app-emacs/sawfish provides a sawfish.el that stops development since 2004. In 2009, this sawfish.el is moved into sawfish repo and got lots of upgrade in 2010.

So, it's better to add an "emacs" USE flag for x11-wm/sawfish and remove app-emacs/sawfish.

I've added an emacs USE flag to x11-wm/sawfish. We need this version to go stable (at least on amd64, ppc, x86), then app-emacs/sawfish can be last-rited.

Please test x11-wm/sawfish-1.9.1-r2.
