when i build gcc 4.8.2 with crossdev 
g++: warning: ‘-mcpu=’ is deprecated; use ‘-mtune=’ or ‘-march=’ instead
g++: error: unrecognized command line option ‘-mfpu=vfp’
g++: error: unrecognized command line option ‘-mfloat-abi=hard’
Makefile:3868: recipe for target 'build/version.o' failed
make[2]: *** [build/version.o] Error 1

gcc 4.7.3 builds just fine with same env


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
armv6j-hardfloat-linux-gnueabi-emerge =sys-devel/gcc-4.8.2
 or with a script to install a binpkg over nfs to the raspberrypi
Actual Results:  
armv6j-hardfloat-linux-gnueabi-emerge =sys-devel/gcc-4.8.2
 fails 

Expected Results:  
it should merge 

armv6j-hardfloat-linux-gnueabi-emerge  --info

as you can see this latest log is from amd64 which seems to result in the same error as when i do it in a 32bit chroot
