firefox-bin has a bundled copy of all packages that it needs. What happens if you do: emerge @preserved-rebuild -av1 ? Tried this already a few times. (In reply to Myckel Habets from comment #2) Have you tried removing firefox-bin then reinstalling it? I had a simmilar issue with openoffice-bin a while ago, cant remember which but giving it the -C and merging it back in always stopped the complaints.
