When mounting a Windows/SAMBA share with gvfs-mount (or Nautilus or Thunar), file operations often cause the gvfsd-smb daemon to hang and any process using gvfsd-smb via FUSE to hang (e.g. a file manager, media player or just a simple cp or grep).

This has been fixed upstream and the upstream patch applies cleanly to gvfs-1.16.3.  I've tested it locally and it appears to solve the process hanging problems I was having.  It makes smb in gvfs useable again, whereas before it was highly unreliable!
