I can't reproduce this, and my environment is very similar. Is this a consistent failure? Created attachment 360726 [details]
dev-libs/nss-3.15.2 build failure
I can reproduce compiling dev-libs/nss-3.15.2 using gcc 4.6.3
x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -shared -m64 -Wl,-z,defs -Wl,-soname -Wl,libnss3.so -Wl,--version-script,Linux2.6_x86_64_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc_glibc_PTH_64_OPT.OBJ/nss.def -Wl,-O1 -Wl,--as-needed -m64 -m64 -m64 -o Linux2.6_x86_64_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc_glibc_PTH_64_OPT.OBJ/libnss3.so [...] -lnssutil3 -L/var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/nss-3.15.2/temp/fake-dir -lplc4 -lplds4 -lnspr4 -lpthread -ldl -lc
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.6.3/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: ../pki/Linux2.6_x86_64_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc_glibc_PTH_64_OPT.OBJ/symmkey.o: bad reloc symbol index (0xc0000002 >= 0x20) for offset 0x38 in section `.eh_frame'
../pki/Linux2.6_x86_64_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc_glibc_PTH_64_OPT.OBJ/symmkey.o: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I'm pretty confident both compile failures are related, and attached are the build.log of dev-lib/nss, emerge --info and the faulty (half-?)generated symmkey.o file, in case it helps.
But I'm not that sure it's a concern specific for nss libs (I've had this kind of linker errors several times recently)
