You are right, the tests are failing here as well. I guess this has something to do with portage-2.2. I get asked for a password for the tests. If I disable the FEATURE userpriv no password is required but one test "tc_pos_print_fs_info_fat32" still fails. Do you experience the same? The problem seems to be userpriv enabled by default as discussed on the gentoo-dev mailing list in July. The tests of fatsort however require root privileges. Adding RESTRICT="test? ( userpriv )" to the ebuild should do the trick. I will contact upstream regarding the remaining failing test. I have contacted upstream about the failing test. The test itself was okay but the results were compared with the wrong expected results.
