It is rather strange to see that last version of sys-fs/lvm2 require ruby installation. Because it requires sys-block/thin-provisioning-tools.
I removed from thin-provisioning-tools RDEPENDS from ruby, and I have not ruby installed on my systemd. And merge of thin-provisioning-tools-0.2.1 was succesefull. So it is not hard dependicies. 

So it will be nice if such low level package like sys-fs/lvm2 works without ruby.
