Description Dirkjan Ochtman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-09-13 09:58:26 UTC
Throws all kinds of errors about the mysql extension being deprecated.

Since we have both in stable, I think zabbix-2.0.4 should be patched.

Thanks for reporting this... 2.0.4 is getting old in the stable tree and is missing some other bug fixes, so we probably just need to remove it from cvs after designating a newer ebuild as stable.

2.0.8 in particular has a patch for issues with curl..and according to a comment the patch for the php 5.5 compatibility might have been included in 2.0.8rc1, it also includes important fixes from 2.0.6, so I'm leaning toward checking the release notes for 2.0.8 and possibly stabilizing it early.

Sounds good, thanks!

IRC conversation with upstream:

<Richlv> MattM, 2.0.8 is supposed to work fine with 5.5, although it still uses some deprecated functions. 2.2 should move away from those completely
<MattM> richlv - I'll go ahead with stabilizing 2.0.8 for now and file zabbix bugs if we get any issues
<Richlv> MattM, sounds great, thanks
Comment 4 Matthew Marlowe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-09-22 13:12:16 UTC
djc - looks like 2.0.8 is now stable in the tree, upstream says it fixes the php 5.5 issues - setting this bug to resolved-test request for the next week and we'll see if we can get any further feedback from users. I'm also removing all older versions of zabbix from the tree since there have been so many bug fixes recently it doesn't make sense to keep them around.
Comment 5 Dirkjan Ochtman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2013-09-23 08:23:10 UTC
I installed it and it fixed my issues, thanks!
