media-libs/libjeg-turbo include: LIBJPEG_62.0 - libjpeg.so.62 and LIBTURBOJPEG_0.0 - libturbojpeg.so.0
media-libs/jpeg:0 include: LIBJPEG_8.0 - libjpeg.so.8
Part of the initial binary applications compiled with LIBJPEG_8.0 and it is a big problem because of the lack of this library

libjpeg-turbo is the new implementation.

Which applications are those that lack the library?

Can't you just remove jpeg and rebuild them with libjpeg-turbo?
