Probably starting with version 1.2.10, the Randomize List function in the playlist window of XMMS has started yielding more or less the same list each time it's used.

It seems that some of the songs I like the most (and also some of the newest songs) are on the top, and I'm suspecting it might be the Dynamic Taste Detection that the people over at xmms.org seem to know nothing about.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open XMMS.
2. Add songs to the playlist.
3. Randomize playlist.
4. Go to step 3.

Actual Results:  
The playlist looks the same as last time you randomized it.

Expected Results:  
The playlist should have been randomized.

Additionally, starting with version 1.2.10, the Shuffle function only plays the top songs in the playlist, so that even if you shuffle the playlist and play in shuffle mode, you still get the same songs.

turn off dtd then.

as you stated, it is a dtd problem.  dtd is on by default.  turn it off, and tell me if it works.

Actually I'm sure it works, so I'll just close the bug. I don't think something that overrides the functionality of an XMMS function should be on by default, though.
