It seems that xfce is not able to read my home directory. Any changes made there (for example ~/Desktop/Autostart is not read, or .themes/xfwm4/custom.keys/keythemerc). Changes to global keyfile (/usr/share/xfwm4) work.
Can someone comment on this?

ok, i could fix the autostart problem by unmerging xfce4-session, but the ~/.themes problem still persists

the fault was infront of the keyboard
