Hrm, bus error is quite often bad hardware or not enough RAM. Can you reproduce this consistently? yes. i tried it twice with the same result. mem usage is fine. I can't vouch 100% for the hardware, but it's been working fine since I got it. I've been able to reproduce this consistantly as well. Bazik has another bug open, http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46089, which is a bug about a needed patch for sparc, but this doesn't seem to related. I'm using -mcpu=ultrasparc -O2 -pipe here. tried CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe" to no avail... looked at the other bug, and it looks like they start to mention this build error, but the patches mentioned in that bug don't fix compilation for me... From talking to sparcmoz in the #sparc chatroom on freenode, there is an additional patch for 2.6 kernels that may be needed to make this build. I'm hoping to have some time this weekend to test that out. |
