Description Rainer Größlinger (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-09 13:39:12 UTC
Hello,

I have been searching for a quite long time now for IPv6 support in Gentoo.
I am not refering to the kernel, v6 support is there but I miss some (important)
packages like ping6, traceroute6 etc.

Gentoo doesn't have the ip-utils package, the other package I know about is
net-tools which indeed is there at sys-apps/net-tools

According to the author of net-tools it has ping6, traceroute6 etc. included but
when I compile it, I don't have it although I have the IPv6 USE-flag set.

someone else was working on this, i forget who.

I added ip-utils yesterday. I don't use ipv6, so if you find
a problem with the "6" programs in ip-utils please let me
know.
