this is kvim 6.2.14 ebuild - latest version in portage.
as said, the mentioned item is missing in the edit menu.
as a solution, the kvim developer m.marchand sent me a
new menu.vim file - see
http://svn.freenux.org/svn/kvim/trunk/runtime/menu.vim
- after replacing /usr/share/vim/vim62 with the above, kvim would work ok.
so I think the file should be installed by the ebuild ?

Please raise your voice in bug 56992, if necessary. I'll close this bug, if kvim gets hard masked.
