With texinfo-5.1, xemacs-21.4.22-r2 fails to build custom.info:

Thanks for the report.

A patch for 21.5 has been pushed upstream so the problem is known. 

I have raised the question upstream if 21.4 will get a patch in the same way as 21.5 and for more details what needs to be changed to be compatible with texinfo 5.x.

Any news on this? texinfo-5.1 could be needed in stable soon :/

Patch for xemacs-21.4.22-r3

Attached patch fixes the build failure in xemacs-21.4.22-r3 for me. I've tested with both texinfo-5.1 and -5.2.

Basically, this is a backport of the upstream patch for 21.5: https://bitbucket.org/xemacs/xemacs/commits/d11efddf3617c0c74b8e0a029803f248c7630a61 with one additional change needed for 21.4.
