Description Arne Babenhauserheide 2013-06-30 00:36:45 UTC
Since Ryzom is AGPL with all the art as cc by-sa, it would be great to have an ebuild for it.

There are already build instructions for Gentoo¹, but it feels much cleaner to me to install directly with portage, so it would my nice to have an ebuild - ideally in the tree.

Ryzom is one of the few big games which have free code and free assets, and I think it would be great to support it from distributions (and especially the distribution I use and prefer).

it seems to depend on libwww which has been removed wrt bug 320253
Comment 2 Arne Babenhauserheide 2013-06-30 02:27:51 UTC
ouch…

there actually is a ryzom bug entry to replace libwww: https://bitbucket.org/ryzom/ryzomcore/issue/22/replace-libwww-with-berkelium

Can we somehow make the gentoo bug depend on the ryzom bug?
Comment 3 Markus Fischer 2015-07-03 17:33:50 UTC
libwww is now replaced with libxml2+curl and the ryzom bug was closed. I'd really love to see ryzom as an ebuild :)

The build instructions mentioned above are no longer available. They can now be found here: https://en.wiki.ryzom.com/wiki/Building_Ryzom_Client_On_Debian
