sys-apps/texinfo-5.1 needs dev-perl/Unicode-EastAsianWidth and dev-perl/Text-Unidecode which explicitly depend on dev-lang/perl[-build] (look at perl-modules.eclass). However, catalyst uses USE=build for stage1 so the following problem occurs The following USE changes are necessary to proceed: (see "package.use" in the portage(5) man page for more details) # required by dev-perl/Text-Unidecode-0.40.0 # required by sys-apps/texinfo-5.1 # required by @system # required by @world (argument) >=dev-lang/perl-5.16.3 -build This is an existing problem for MIPS stages and it will affect all other architectures once texinfo-5.1 goes stable on them.
