The same issue affects emerge-webrsync. Since tarsync does not support rsync options, we use a hardcoded list of excluded for tarsync: -e /distfiles -e /packages -e /local Storing files inside PORTDIR and relying on excludes is fragile a best. It would be a lot safer for you to set PORTDIR to a subdirectory of /usr/portage, like /usr/portage/gentoo. In make.conf you can set PORTDIR to any location you want. |
