configure: error: You need either libswresample or libavresample.

...I said "what it points to" (though virtual might have a use for a new useflag). That means on libav/ffmpeg, not the virtual itself.

Just to notice, I tried libav with -custom-cflags early, didn't help.

This has probably been fixed in the meanwhile (without revbump).
For libav, media-libs/libpostproc dep was missing.

It won't build with libav as of now.
Only version building with libav is 12.1-r1 which also has set deps on libav correctly.

To be more accurate the problem with configure disappear with libav 9 and it still fails in compile a bit.

newer xbmc has new libav patches, and kodi has so far dropped libav.  so it's kind of a moot point.
