The quickest way to fix this might be to turn

  GLIB_LIBS ?= @GLIB_LIBS@

into

  GLIB_LIBS ?= @GLIB_LIBS@ -lgmodule-2.0

in extra.mk.in .  That is what worked for me.

You would want to use `pkg-config --libs glib-2.0 gmodule-2.0' for that.
