I have the same exact problem. When I run any kde apps under fluxbox or any other non-kde desktop or wm, the app crashes with the same message as on first post. obiously with a different pid ...

Anyone with a solution...?

dunno - i don't use gnome. you may wnat to ask on the kde mailing lists, as it may be an easy fix..

found on kde a similar bug, pb seems to be with dependencies. They say kdebase and kdelib needed to remedy crash problem. will try compiling and see if that solves it. I did not have them installed at all...so will see

did the update of kdebase and kdelibs, problem still remains. I reemerge quanta ... pb remains... when I open a document in a kde app the app crash with mutex error...

I followed the steps in this posted and qt compiling seems to be doing good... hopefully this will close this bug.

I'm glad the crash was fixed.
For the original problem (warnings on exit, with or without a crash), see

closing.
