The ebuild for 1.0.1 worked for me by simply renaming it to evil-1.0.2.ebuild.  The change log in CHANGES.org mentions one fixed bug (https://bitbucket.org/lyro/evil/issue/290), which is not related to deployment or dependencies.

The distfile does not yet exist on any mirror, so I had to create it myself by:

$ git clone git://gitorious.org/evil/evil.git
$ tar --exclude .git -cvJf evil-1.0.2.tar.xz evil

(Right now I think the most recent repository commit is 1.0.2.  I'm not enough of a git expert to recall how to access a specific revision, but in any case the revision hash is f79b78050937d78a7b949788b26826abb3f5e2ba.)

$ tar --exclude .git -cvJf evil-1.0.2.tar.xz evil

Reproducible: Always
