dunno, looks like some local IDL problem to me... try to do the idl steps by hand and check what goes wrong. Some lines before that IDL stuff already look suspicious to me: === Begin === checking for catalogs to be installed... de sed: can't read ./intl/po2tbl.sed.in: No such file or directory configure: creating ./config.status config.status: creating Makefile === End == Does the sed problem also happen during a normal (i.e. successful) build? The orbit-idl call gives the same error if invoked manually: === Begin === root@cube:/var/tmp/portage/portage/gconf-1.0.9/work/GConf-1.0.9/gconf# orbit-idl ./GConf.idl Error: Empty file ** WARNING **: ./GConf.idl compilation failed === End === But GConf.idl does contain data: === Begin === root@cube:/var/tmp/portage/portage/gconf-1.0.9/work/GConf-1.0.9/gconf# ls -l GConf.idl -rw-r--r-- 1 portage portage 7273 Jul 11 2001 GConf.idl root@cube:/var/tmp/portage/portage/gconf-1.0.9/work/GConf-1.0.9/gconf# head -10 GConf.idl // Really, this whole interface should be used only via the GConf // client library. I reserve the right to change it whenever I feel // like it. So there. enum ConfigBasicValueType { BInvalidVal, BIntVal, BStringVal, BFloatVal, BBoolVal, BSchemaVal }; enum ConfigValueType { InvalidVal, IntVal, StringVal, FloatVal, BoolVal, SchemaVal, ListVal, PairVal }; struct ConfigSchema { root@cube:/var/tmp/portage/portage/gconf-1.0.9/work/GConf-1.0.9/gconf# === End === I've never worked with orbit before, so I don't know how to proceed. is that all data ? that doesn't seem like the whole deal yeah i did notice the sed message, but i don't think some translation issue is an influence here.. though it might be worth looking into No, I've just posted the first 10 lines. Will attach the full file. Created attachment 28963 [details]

have you tried with MAKEOPTS="-j1" ? Exactly the same result both with MAKEOPTS=-j1 and MAKEOPTS="". i have no clue, i can't reproduce and there have been no further reports. If this is still a problem i'd suggest you maybe look at the discrepancy between your CFLAGS & CXXFLAGS. If you got nothing further to work with we're gonna have to close this. works here, no further info |
