backtrace of crash with libffi-3.0.13 and gnome-shell-3.6.3.1

I recently did a fresh install of gnome on a system where it had not been run previously.  After a couple of months of poking around and trying various things I have narrowed down the problem.  Gnome-shell will segfault if libffi-3.0.12 or 3.0.13 are installed.  When I finally downgraded libffi to 3.0.11 the segfaults stopped and I am now able to run gnome.  That was the only change to the system that has made any difference as far as a segfault or no segfault from gnome-shell.  I have attached a backtrace from the crash.
