i was trying to emerge qmbtagger, configure complained about missing musicbrainz lib. emerge musicbrainz qmbtagger worked fine.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. make sure you dont have musicbrainz installed
2. emerge qmbtagger - portage complains
3. emerge musicbrainz qmbtagger - works fine

I can't see the problem with this as musicbrainz is specified in the ebuild.  Since I released a new version I submitted a new ebuild (bug #47036), which is essentially the same as the old one, so if there is a fix, it will probably need to be applied there as well.

maybe you had an old ebuild... it works for me...

you are absolutely right, its working now. strange thing is it didn't on the day i heard first about qmbtagger.

must have been due to the quantum singularity neer to my home that's creating a rift in space and time (i definitivly don't need fortune-mod-bofh-excuses ;)
