As a workaround, I've added WANT_AUTOMAKE="1.12" to both motif-2.3.4-r1 and motif-2.2.3-r12. Can you please report this upstream, too? This needs to be fixed upstream, and until then, we take advantage of the fact that automake is slotted. Not arguing with the upstream part, just why have an extra automake version installed, when not really need to ? No, '--depclean' doesn't count. Obviously, you hadn't tested if your suggestion works: ***** aclocal ***** ***** PWD: /var/tmp/portage/x11-libs/motif-2.3.4-r1/work/motif-2.3.4 ***** aclocal -I . -I . configure.ac:39: error: 'AM_PROG_CC_STDC': this macro is obsolete. You should simply use the 'AC_PROG_CC' macro instead. Also, your code should no longer depend upon 'am_cv_prog_cc_stdc', but upon 'ac_cv_prog_cc_stdc'. /usr/share/aclocal-1.13/obsolete-err.m4:17: AM_PROG_CC_STDC is expanded from... configure.ac:39: the top level autom4te-2.69: /usr/bin/m4 failed with exit status: 1 aclocal-1.13: error: echo failed with exit status: 1 > Not arguing with the upstream part, just why have an extra automake version > installed, when not really need to ? > No, '--depclean' doesn't count. Prepare a patch and we can apply it. (And a patch can be sent upstream, whereas a sed cannot.) Reported upstream: http://bugs.motifzone.net/show_bug.cgi?id=1595 |
