Vixie-cron is the upgrade for vcron.  If you already have vcron installed and you update to vixie-cron the postinst instructions of vixie-cron read:

 * Please run:
 * rc-update del vcron
 * rc-update add vixie-cron default

If you run those commands, it still doesn't clear out vcron and the following errors happen:

* Caching service dependencies...
*  Service 'vcron' already provide 'cron'!;
*  Not adding service 'vixie-cron'...

To fix this I deleted /etc/init.d/vcron, and added vixie-cron back to default.

It would be helpful if the additional instructions were added to the postinst of vixie-cron.
