If I try the same from seamonkey-2.17 I get the A4 layout: rose@leopard:/home_leopard/rose(8)$ pdfinfo mozilla.pdf Creator: cairo 1.12.14 (http://cairographics.org) Producer: cairo 1.12.14 (http://cairographics.org) Tagged: no Form: none Pages: 2 Encrypted: no Page size: 595.3 x 841.9 pts (A4) Page rot: 0 File size: 163946 bytes Optimized: no PDF version: 1.5 > LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
do you have separate locale configured for the user or LC_PAPER set?
Print to file works as expected. You must change your settings in Print Page Setup. Once you do so all will work as expected. I don't think cairo has anything to do with this issue. (In reply to comment #2) > > LANG="en_US.UTF-8" > > do you have separate locale configured for the user or LC_PAPER set? User "rose", who tried to print with firefox, has a german locale : rose@impala:/home_impala/rose(4)$ locale LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 LC_NUMERIC=C LC_TIME=de_DE.UTF-8 LC_COLLATE=C LC_MONETARY=C LC_MESSAGES=de_DE.UTF-8 LC_PAPER="de_DE.UTF-8" LC_NAME="de_DE.UTF-8" LC_ADDRESS="de_DE.UTF-8" LC_TELEPHONE="de_DE.UTF-8" LC_MEASUREMENT="de_DE.UTF-8" LC_IDENTIFICATION="de_DE.UTF-8" LC_ALL= rose@impala:/home_impala/rose(5)$ set | grep LC_PAPER rose@impala:/home_impala/rose(6)$ env | grep LANG LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 GDM_LANG=en_US.utf8 CSF_LANGUAGE=us LANGUAGE=de_DE.UTF-8 User "root" has an USA locale: root@impala:/root(1)# locale LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8" LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8" LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8" LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8" LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8" LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8" LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8" LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8" LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8" LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8" LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8" LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8" LC_ALL= root@impala:/root(5)# env | grep LANG LANG=en_US.UTF-8 CSF_LANGUAGE=us root@impala:/root(7)# set | grep LC_PAPER root@impala:/root(8)# (In reply to comment #3) > Print to file works as expected. You must change your settings in Print Page > Setup. Once you do so all will work as expected. Some strange has just happens, I just tried again to print from firefox to a file. I suppose I did the following: File -> Print -> Print to File -> Page Setup There has been about (only) 10 formats. These 10 format are the same number I have seen yesterday with firefox at leopard. I was already yesterday wondering that I see with seamonkey at the same menu item about 200 (estimated) formats. I selected A4 and then I tried "Print". Nothing was printed, because I forgot to select folder ("Save to folder" was empty. BTW., why is the home directory not selected as the default folder?) Then the second attempt, some seconds later: File -> Print -> Print to File -> Save to Folder "rose" File -> Print -> Print to File -> Page Setup Now I see also about 200 (estimated) formats. Strange what has change between the first and the second attempt? I select, after scrolling many pages through "A4". And now indeed the output file has A4 format: rose@impala:/home_impala/rose(8)$ pdfinfo mozilla.pdf Creator: cairo 1.12.12 (http://cairographics.org) Producer: cairo 1.12.12 (http://cairographics.org) Tagged: no Form: none Pages: 6 Encrypted: no Page size: 595.3 x 841.9 pts (A4) Page rot: 0 File size: 148673 bytes Optimized: no PDF version: 1.5 So far it seems to work now. But if I doing a third attempt to print to file into my home directory with A4 format I have again to select the home directory and scroll again through the page setup menu. How these settings can be saved? (In reply to comment #6) > (In reply to comment #3) > > Print to file works as expected. You must change your settings in Print Page > > Setup. How these settings > can be saved? printer_Print_to_File.print_paper_name;iso_a4 ensure yours match. There is a bug right now in save location, soon as I can I will track down issue and get a fix done up. All should be fixed in 24.2.0 if you can test would be appreciated. If you can reproduce still feel free to reopen bug and update summary. |
