Description Lars Wendler (Polynomial-C) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-01 04:27:35 UTC
ntop-3.0 requires libgd to compile but theres no dependency on that in the ebuild.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. unmerge an existing installation of libgd if installed (backup with quickpkg before)
2. emerge ntop
3. emerge failed

Actual Results:
emerge doesn't success due to missing dependency

Expected Results:
emerge installs libgd (if not already installed) before emerging ntop

Re-assigning to netmon herd, adding sparc to CC
Comment 3 Jon Hood (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-14 10:23:38 UTC
Looking through the previous versions' INSTALL documentation, I don't see libgd listed as a dependency. Is it a dependency for <ntop-3.0 too, or is it ntop-3.0 specific?
Comment 4 Jon Hood (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-14 10:40:09 UTC
Alright, libgd and libpng were added at ntop-3.0's dependency documentation from previous versions but are not listed as dependencies in the ebuild. The ebuild has been updated (I tried to make sure I wouldn't break anything, but if I did, I'll be in #gentoo-dev for floggings).
